Did you know you can walk to the top of Australia's top 10 mainland peaks in one walk?
Local Snowy Mountains guide Mike Edmondson knows the area like the back on his hand and has been leading people on his Ten Peaks Walk tour for some time.
Mike has three tours left before the season ends:
- March 29 - April 1 Easter (Camping Ten Peaks 5 places left)
- April 5-8 (Camping Ten Peaks 2 places left)
- April 25-28 Anzac Weekend
The program to complete all ten summits is over four days, walking approximately 70km. The four-day program allows time to enjoy the wonderful alpine scenery, without feeling you need to rush off to the next summit.
The top ten peaks in Australia are located in the southern end of the Kosciuszko National Park, New South Wales. Most can be accessed from Thredbo Village with the remaining peaks from nearby Charlotte Pass. The top ten peaks are:
- Mt Kosciuszko, 2228m
- Mt Townsend, 2209m
- Mt Twynam, 2195m
- Rams Head, 2190m
- Etheridge Ridge Peak, 2180m
- Rams Head North, 2177m
- Alice Rawson, 2160m
- Abbot Peak, 2159m
- Abbot Peak East, 2145m
- Carruthers Peak, 2145m
