"I have been bushwalking and hiking for the last nine years in outback South-West Qld, as well as around Tasmania. In addition, I have enjoyed multi-day self-guided walks overseas including Hadrians Wall in the UK, Tuscany and Umbria in Italy, the Douro Valley and the Portugal to Spain Camino Walk.

These invigorating and refreshing day and multi-day walking experiences have inspired me to want to share my love of walking in pristine nature in my home island of Tasmania with likeminded people. I love connecting with people and promoting the preservation of our unique wilderness and wildlife in my role as a tour guide."

"I offer a 4-day guided walking tour of Northern Tasmania. We start by walking along the Mersey River coastal track in Devonport that flows out to Bass Strait where you will see the Spirit of Tasmania sailing in. Then it is a two-day linear walk along the coastal track of Narawntapu National Park where you’ll spots Forrester kangaroos grazing on Springlawn Reserve.

You’ll also spot Bennetts wallabies and pademelons amongst the melaleuca trees and many native birds including wattle birds, thornbills and fairy wrens. The walk ends on Day 3 at popular Greens Beach and on the final day you will visit the Tamar Valley for a memorable wine tasting tour at Swinging Gate then lunch at the iconic riverside hotel, Rosevears.

Highlights of the tour include sailing on a replica historic tall ship, Julie Burgess, on the Mersey River, walking on a stunning coastal track in Narawntapu National Park and getting up close and personal with native animals and birds in their natural habitat."

"Why should someone book a tour in this region rather than DIY? Well, the guide is a knowledgeable local and has arranged everything so the guests have nothing to worry about except to turn up and enjoy the walking tour. This is perfect for individuals who want the security and social interaction of like-minded walkers in a group experience.

The entire tour is organised from the beginning where the guests are picked up from their hotel in Launceston and transported via mini-bus to the start of the track. The four-day itinerary includes guided walks, chartered sail on the tall ship, maritime museum visit, 3-star accommodation, lunches, restaurant and hotel dinners and an Aussie BBQ, wine tasting and visits to Seahorse World.

We also offer self-guided walking tours using a comprehensive booklet with easy-to-follow maps and directions, checklists of native animals, birds, trees and plants and relevant historical information of the region. There is a map app that complements the booklet as well. Transport is provided from pick up from your hotel to return to your hotel on the last day. This is perfect for two or small groups who want the option of glamping and to explore at their own pace."
