Ireen Demuth, The Long Walk Up (PEOPLE WILDERNESS 2022)

It is 1000m up from Sabine Hut at Lake Rotoroa just to clear the treeline and then some more over Mt. Cedric to Angelus Hut. Once we came out of the trees we were rewarded with the view over the lake with the slowly disappearing mist. When the day turns out like this it makes the early start and steep ascent worthwhile.
