Jodie Bandouvakis , Takachiho Gorge, Japan (MAY THEME: Water)

I was hiking near Aso Volcano in Kyushu Japan when I saw a photo of this gorge on the wall of our b’n’b. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to find it. Luckily upon investigation I found out it was driving distance away and headed off to track it down. What a beautiful place! As well as hiking around the gorge we hired a little boat like you can see in the photo and paddled through the winding bends. It was the most perfect day.
