Deb Clark, Morning Glory (PLACES WILDERNESS 2022)

At the end of long dirt roads, lies the group of Ashburton Lakes in New Zealand. This is Lake Otautari. With a temperature of -7 degrees Celsius, it was so cold it hurt to breathe but the scene unfolding in front of me drove all thoughts of retreating into the warmth of the camper away. The softest light touched the fine mist as it rose and fell across the water. It was magical.
