WENDY KLEIN, I came, I conquered! (PLACES WILDERNESS 2022)

Challenging myself to get to this location required endurance and perserverance . Not kowing where I was going in the dark along a path that had ice and snow on it in some parts and crossing three suspension bridges, I wondered if I would ever make to the lake in time for sunrise. Being unfit I struggled at times when climbing a few stairs and slight inclines but I was impressed to keep going to achieve my goal. It took about 50 minutes to walk the 5 k/ms. It was minus 7 degrees and I was rugged to to the hilt and carrying a 12 kilo pack pack full of cameras and various lenses and filters, I was really feeling the load. I could see the first bits of daylight appearing and still had about 500 metres to go. I was inspired in what I was seeing in the sky - the colours starting and I was so determined to get there and pushed myself even though I was feeling the pain. Long story short I came and I conquered. My image is the what made it all worth it.
