Julie Gill, Flaunting Flamingo (NATURE WILDERNESS 2024)
Amidst the vast pink sea of flamingos gathered at Kenya’s Lake Bogoria, one stands out, its wings outstretched in a display of vivid black and crimson. As if posing for the flock, it proudly dries its feathers in the warm air, each slow, deliberate movement almost like a performance. With the shimmering lake and hundreds of other flamingos forming a backdrop, the bird’s elegant posture and vibrant colors make it appear as though it’s flaunting its beauty to the world, reveling in its place among the mass of fluttering wings and reflections.
