Tim Joy, Dusk hiking in the Tasmanian South-West (PEOPLE WILDERNESS 2022)

My partner and I attempted to hike the Mt Anne circuit, however due to bad weather we were forced to turn back. Hiking through rain, sleet and strong winds, we camped overnight at Shelf Camp. With no break in the weather in the foreseeable future, we made the easy yet difficult decision the following morning to return to the start. As we descended and neared the starting point, the clouds parted and in the dusk light, we were shown the Tasmanian South-West in all its glory! Absolutely amazing :-) We'll be back another time in hope of completing the circuit.
