Ireen Demuth, A Perfect Night (PLACES WILDERNESS 2022)

The day started later than planned and we were a lot slower than anticipated which meant we never made it to the head-end of Lake Constance in Nelson Lakes National Park where we had hoped to camp. Instead we ended up pitching the tent on a little grassy knoll overlooking the lake and its surrounding mountain ranges. Just as we were starting to cook the wind completely dropped turning the lake into a mirror where we could later at night even see reflections of the stars. It also turned out to be the perfect spot to photograph the Milky-way looking down onto our little tent.
