Kate Miles, Up in the Clouds (February theme: Peaks & Passes)

The high point (quite literally) of the Milford Track is Mackinnon Pass. As you ascend the steep zig zag trail, anticipation builds for the alpine mountain vistas that await. Some hope for bluebird skies to make the trek up easier, but the beauty of Mackinnon Pass only really shines in the cloud and rain.
