In the heart of far north Queensland, a new adventure is taking shape.

The Wangetti Trail, a 94km hiking and biking route from Palm Cove to Port Douglas, is poised to become one of the world’s great outdoor experiences.

Already under construction, the trail will wind its way along the stunning coastline where the rainforest meets the ocean, offering travelers a chance to immerse themselves in nature like never before.

Tourism Minister Andrew Powell envisions the multi-million-dollar trail attracting nature lovers from around the globe. Hikers and bikers will be treated to breathtaking views of waterfalls, pristine beaches, and an array of unique wildlife, including the endangered southern cassowary and the elusive musky rat-kangaroo.

The trail will pass through lush national parks, a World Heritage area, and vast rainforests, offering a front-row seat to the wonders of the Wet Tropics.

Adventurers will have various accommodation options, from rustic bunk houses to luxury eco-chalets. Picture a night spent in a five-star cabin with a private chef and a bottle of fine wine, followed by a day of trekking through the wild.

The Wangetti Trail, inspired by successful ventures in Tasmania and New Zealand, is set to become a premier destination that blends luxury with raw, untamed beauty.
