Noosa National Park’s Coastal Walk upgrade from Tea Tree Bay to Alexandria Bay has been completed.
The $1.1 million upgrade has breathed new life into key sections of the popular Noosa National Park track, stretching from Dolphin Point to the Fairy Pools. Improvements include resurfacing paths for greater durability, building new rock retaining walls, and making the track more accessible for all visitors.
A standout feature of the project is a new rock retaining wall at Tanglewood Link, along with updated interpretive signage to enrich the visitor experience.
Environment and Tourism Minister Andrew Powell highlighted the park’s significance, calling the headland section a vital economic and tourism drawcard for the Sunshine Coast. “It’s fantastic to see the upgrades completed in time for the Easter holidays, all while protecting the park’s natural beauty for future generations,” he said.
Matt Stoeckel, CEO of Visit Sunshine Coast, praised the collaborative effort, expressing excitement about the improved walkways and facilities. “These enhancements solidify Noosa National Park as a must-see destination for both locals and tourists.”
A state government spokesperson confirmed that the project followed extensive consultation with key stakeholders. This approach ensured the upgrades were not only beneficial to visitors but also aligned with long-term sustainability goals and the preservation of the park’s natural charm.
