The Great Walks June-July issue is out now and the theme is "Walk, eat, sleep, repeat".

Walks featured in the issue include Spicers Scenic Rim, K'gari Fraser Island, Kings Canyon and the Light to Light walk.

It's also our Camino special so if you've ever dreamed of taking on a long-distance pilgrim walk this is the issue for you!

We interviewed a bunch of Aussies who have walked one or multiple Caminos.

What's the one piece of advice you would tell someone considering walking a long-distance Camino, we asked Monica Barrett (65).

"Do it your way! If you cannot carry your pack, have it transported. If you can carry it, make sure it is as light as possible. Try using hiking poles if you are concerned about joint pain or balance. It is not a race – go at your own pace and enjoy the sights, sounds, smells and interactions.

"You can always plan to just do sections of pilgrimages if you are unable to do the whole Camino. Whatever way, our best advice is to just do it."

We also profile seven tour operators who specialise in Camino walks, and we review some excellent lightweight rain jackets that would be good for a long-distance walk like the Way of St James.

And finally, we launch our Wilderness Photographer of the Year, presented by Mountain Designs. You'll read a piece on top photography tips and get all the other info on how to enter.

Great Walks June-July issue will be out soon.
