Here’s some news on one of Victoria’s must beautiful multi-day walks.

The Grampians Peaks Trail (GPT) is getting upgraded access points, including a new trailhead and welcome point in the heart of Halls Gap/Budja Budja township.

The trailhead will not only connect to the GPT but also to other walking trails within the park, including the Pinnacle, Chataqua Peak and Venus Baths.

The works include:

  • Track and boardwalk starting opposite the shops on Grampians Road.
  • Seating and gathering spaces along Stony Creek.
  • Signs and walking paths linking key park trails.
  • Pathway improvements near the caravan park.

Showcasing the stunning Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park, the trail connects the park’s spectacular peaks, from the massive sandstone outcrops around Mount Zero (Mura Mura) in the north to Mount Abrupt (Murdajoog) in the south, near the town of Dunkeld.

To provide more options to access the Grampians Peaks Trail, a range of new and upgraded access points and trailheads are being developed along the trail. These are places where people can access the Grampians Peaks Trail to walk all or sections of the Grampians Peaks Trail.
