Tasmanian Iconic Walks (TIW) is hosting a charity hike in Mount Field National Park on April 5, 2025, to raise awareness about how physical activity reduces stroke risk.
Over six previous events, this charity has raised over $230,000 for stroke prevention. In 2025, funds will support the Menzies Institute for Medical Research’s project to develop a free online course on stroke prevention.
Hikers will also experience the beauty of the fagus, Australia’s only native deciduous tree, as its leaves turn from green to yellow, orange, and red before falling.
One participant, Matt Picone, a stroke survivor who had a stroke at 38, has joined the event three times with his team, Motivational Sneakers. As part of his recovery Matt determined to be an advocate for early medical intervention and active living. He values the event for its proactive role in stroke awareness.
Join us for the 2025 Tasmanian Iconic Walk and make a difference in stroke prevention. Sign up for our early bird email list at tasmanianiconicwalks.org or contact us at info@tasmanianiconicwalks.org.
Early bird pricing for tickets will be released in early January and only 100 tickets will be offered at between $69-89 per person. Teams of 4 are encouraged. TIW is a registered charity.
