Check out the latest entry in our Wilderness Photographer of the Year, presented by Southern Ocean Walk. Valerie Macmichael took this serene photo of Mt Paris Dam near Branxholm, northeast Tasmania.
Branxholm is a scenic rural town on the banks of the Ringarooma River, 93km northeast of Launceston on the Tasman Highway.
"What an incredible place this is, untouched, pristine and wonderous, a sight to behold," writes Valeria.
"It used to be unheard of outside of locals, but it's now becoming a place to see. This incredible place will bounce you back to 1936, a time that allows you to sit in awe that the dam wall was mostly hand built as a tin mine. It is a quiet place good for a picnic, and is now signed, so it is easy to find on the back roads."
