Snowy Mountains guide and photographer Mike Edmondson takes five with Great Walks.

What has your company been doing during lockdown?
We were first in lockdown during the fires, then opened up briefly for two trips before the lockdown with the virus. I decided as local of Kosciuszko to upgrade my camera equipment and get out to do as much solitary exploration photography trips as I could with the inspiration to take many great new photographs of Kosciuszko National Park and Jindabyne where I live. Plus market my gallery photography sales and trips regularly building up my profile on Instagram and Facebook. I also produced a new range of postcards and have had a number of new photographs framed ready to sell and added them to my online gallery @ https://mikeedmondson.com.au/galleries.php

Now that most people are free to travel again what destinations are you focussing on?
I specialise in my backyard i.e Kosciuszko National Park and Jindabyne areas which have a great variety of seasons from wildflowers in summer on my Australia’s Ten Peaks walks to the snow and my snow camping adventures in winter. This winter we have specialised snow camping trips for either Snowshoers, Skiers, Cross country Skiers and Snowboarders. I introduce them how to safely snow camp, plus.

How will you be dealing with issues like social distancing, hygiene etc to guarantee clients safety?
By taking small groups of 5 maximum & self-isolating in separate tents, plus assuring that the guides & clients are healthy & without any symptoms prior to our trip. Also cleaning any hire equipment & measuring everyone’s temperature including myself before the trip, we aim to minimise the risk as much as possible.

What would you say to a Great Walks reader who is considering going on a walking tour like yours?
Let me share on my enthusiasm, passion & love to the mountains with you as I take you to many of my favourite scenic locations. To become rejuvenated in nature with exercise is the best way to heal after the lockdown.
